Began his graphic arts career in 1969
with a series of photographs for an American advertising agency.
During 1969 and 1970 he did news and advertising photography in
Vancouver, Canada. He joined Hancock Productions (a
documentary film producer) in 1971 as a wildlife film cameraman.
In 1974 he became a free-lance still photographer and opened
